What do we do?
We believe that preventative care is the key to keeping your pet healthy and to minimize the lifetime cost of care. Our doctors recommend that your pet receives an annual physical exam to help prevent any sudden illnesses, and to create a baseline for their individual bodies and needs. Regular check ups can also help your pet become more familiar with our clinic, and hopefully minimize any stress for future visits.
We provide vaccinations for both dogs and cats including, Rabies (canine and feline), DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvo), Leptospirosis, Bordetella, FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calcivirus, panleukopenia), and FeLV (feline leukemia). Staying up to date on vaccinations is the easiest way to prevent diseases that your pet may be vulnerable to.
Microchipping your pet can be extremely useful in helping to find your pet should they become lost. A microchip is a permanent identification chip that is implanted in a quick and safe manner, almost like giving a vaccination. If your pet is found and taken to another veterinary clinic or shelter, that facility can scan the back of their neck, and retrieve the data on the microchip to get in contact with you. At PetCare Veterinary Clinic we have reunited many pets thanks to their microchip!
We emphasize dental care at PetCare Veterinary Clinic, because the benefits of a healthy mouth go far beyond fresh breath. Pain while eating, infections, and even systemic disease are all health risks that can be related to oral hygiene. Our skilled technicians perform dental cleanings and extractions, full mouth dental x-rays, probing of each individual tooth to check the surrounding gum health, and a scale and polish of all teeth, based on the individual needs of the patient.
Our doctors perform general surgeries such as spays and neuters, mass removals, wound and abscess repairs, and exploratory surgeries. We take every precaution to ensure your pet's safety while under anesthesia. All surgeries are performed in our sterile surgical suite, and a technician cares for your pet from the time they are admitted, until they are discharged. Our pain control protocols will also limit any unnecessary discomfort.
For specialty testing and surgery, such as ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and orthopedic surgery, we have on-call specialty doctors who can come to our clinic. This way, we can offer these specialty procedures to our clients without having to refer out to other clinics. Give us a call if you would like more information!
Our clinic is equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, and on-call specialists to allow for fast and accurate results, and to be able to diagnose and begin treatment for your pet as quickly as possible.
For the convenience of our clients and for quicker treatment, we do keep a fully stocked pharmacy on site. We provide not only heartworm and flea preventatives, but also the necessary medication to help your pet receive the best treatment. Our doctors and staff can educate you on the best course of action, and are able to help you learn how to administer medications to your pet at home.
Puppy and Kitten Packages
Multiple exams, vaccination boosters, and testing is needed for new puppies and kittens in their first 6 months of life. Because so much is needed, we have developed package pricing for these services to save some money for our clients. Call and speak with us for more information and pricing!
Having pets of our own, we know that this can be the most difficult decision our clients may face. We feel honored to take care of your pets during health, but even more so during this part of their life. It is important to us that they feel loved and remain as comfortable as possible. When needed, we will help guide you and your pet through this difficult process, and work with you to determine when humane euthanasia is needed.
